St Rémy-de-Provence Département 13

St Remy de Provence is a city with a rich historical past, located in the heart of the Alpilles mountain range. It is built on one of the oldest European archeological site. The Glanum Remains represent an impressive landmark of the different civilisations that successively lived here.St Remy also inspired many artists, writers and painters. The most famous is certainly Vincent Van Gogh, who painted more than 150 pictures in the countryside surrounding St Remy.
The little winding streets invite you to stroll around the town, and discover beautiful ancient fountains, little shady squares with nice restaurant terraces and fine stores. From the Place Jean Jaures to the gates of the old city, you will walk along private townhouses, convents, chapels and luxurious residences from the 17th and 18th century.
