Vaugines is a quiet little agricultural village, partially stuck on the rock. It is located at the bottom of the Luberon mountain, at an altitude of 400 meters (1300 ft).
This very ancient village has preserved its Provencal soul in its little narrow and peaceful streets bordered by beautiful traditional stone houses.
Vaugines being a converging point of hiking trails, it is a good place for cyclists, horseback-riders and hikers to discover the area. You will be able to see the rich fauna and flora of the Luberon Natural Regional Park, as well as its “Biosphere Reserve”.

The village is really worth a detour for its peacefulness, its refreshing shades and the beauty of its heritage.

Just like Cucuron, the village has been a shooting location for many scenes of the movies “Jean de Florette” and “Manon des Sources”.
