The Charterhouse in Villeneuve les Avignon
- From Tuesday 01 January 2008 to Wednesday 31 December 2008
This carthusian monastery is one of the biggest in Europe with a church, its three cloisters, frescoes painted by Matteo Giovanetti and its 40 monk cells each with a garden. It was founded in the 14th century by the Pope Innocent VI. His mausoleum is placed in the church.
Special guided visit in English language for individual visitors during the summer.
